Vertigo features U2 performing in a featureless desert as black jet streams emit from behind each band member; on the ground is a huge white bulls-eye symbol used as a motif for the album graphics. Where the Streets Have No Name was filmed on the rooftop of a liquor store at East 7th Street and South Main Street in Los Angeles on March 27, 1987. Footage from this event includes the police shutting the surprise concert down due to traffic concerns. The stunt was viewed as an homage to The Beatles when they played their rooftop show on the roof of Apple Records in Savile Row.
