Queen went through many disappointments and refusals before Bohemian Rhapsody was finally released in 1975 by record label EMI. The song is an amalgamation of 3 songs written by Freddie Mercury, which were put together after Freddie began to play one after the other on the piano. The video cost just £4,500 to make and was filmed and edited on the same day as it was due for release in the same week. It was uncommon for bands to create music videos for their music at the time. However, following the video’s success, it has now become an industry standard.
