“Wannabe” is the debut single by English girl group the Spice Girls. Its music video, directed by Johan Camitz, became a big success on the British cable network The Box, which sparked press interest in the group. On The Box, it was selected so frequently that it reached the top of the viewers’ chart within two hours of going on air, and stayed at number one for thirteen weeks until it was replaced by the group’s next music video for “Say You’ll Be There”.
